One of the most elegant and classic dresses of all time is the *Wrap Dress*. Designed by Elsa Schiaparellli in the 1930's and later updated in the 1940's by Claire McCardell, the wrap dress is now most famously associated with designer Diane von Furstenberg. Using elastic, clingy synthetic jersey fabrics, von Furstenberg's design was inspired by her divorce, her new-found freedom, and her desire to look great and yet still be comfortable. Easy to wear and extremely flattering on all types of figures, the wrap dress became a symbol of women's liberation in the 1970's.  Since making a comeback in the 1990's, the wrap dress has maintained it's fashion relevancy.  Today it is a wardrobe staple for women in high places like First Lady Michelle Obama and Kate Middleton, The Duchess of Cambridge.

     We have been carrying our version of the *wrap dress* for many years. Made of 95% polyester and 5% spandex, the soft, supple fabric doesn't wrinkle and wears well and hangs beautifully on every woman.  Our dress is a *faux wrap* which means the fabric is wrapped in front and sewn into the skirt.
